How Entrepreneurs Can Work Less and Get More Done

How Entrepreneurs Can Work Less and Get More Done [Infographic]

If you are an entrepreneur you are cursed and you are blessed. On the plus side, you probably have more money than your friends who are working the standard 9 to 5.

You also most likely have more control of where, when and what type of work you do.

However, if you are like most self-employed business people, you pay a heavy price for being your own boss. For one, you are probably working crazy hours.

It is not uncommon for many entrepreneurs to work 50, 60 or 80 hours a week. If you are, you are probably putting your spouse, children, health and spiritual life on the back burner.

7 Methods Entrepreneurs Use to Work Less and Get More Done

1. Entrepreneurs Disconnect In Order To Reconnect

It’s always a good idea to take a break from your work emails over the weekend. If you must, set aside a short period of time to check your emails then spend the remainder of your time connecting with friends or family, and enjoying your hobbies.

2. Entrepreneurs Create An 80/20 Rule

Entrepreneurs will create a daily work schedule that allows them to spend 80% of their time on the most important tasks and 20% on the necessary menial tasks.

If what I’m describing sounds familiar, I suspect you are already receiving nagging reminders from your spouse.

And, because you seem to be short on time to go to the gym, your waistline is probably creeping upwards from that slim 32 waist to 38, 40, and maybe even higher. If you aren’t spending time on growth and renewal, I would not be surprised if you are starting to feel burned out.

3. The Entrepreneur Will Keep His Eyes On The Prize

Highly successful people have countless demands on their time. Know what it is that you want to accomplish and be willing to say no to other projects if you have to.

Working less and getting more done is essential to having a balanced life. If you don’t achieve balance, your life will eventually fall apart. We all know this. The problem is that to achieve balance, we have to accomplish more in less time.

It is no wonder that books like the *One Minute Manager*, *The One Minute Manager for Yourself*, and *The Four Hour Work Week* are best sellers.

Check out the following infographic which tries to drill down to the core elements on how you can work less and get more done. You can always read the books mentioned above. They are very good, and I recommend them highly. However, if you want a cheat sheet that boils the information in these books into a one-page infographic, here it is.
